How to improve your self-esteem before a first date.

A first date can be a nerve wracking time for anyone. Your head is racing with a million and one questions – Do I look okay? Will my date like me? Will things be awkward? Getting stuck in this mindset can mean you become a self-fulfilling prophecy – you worry about being awkward, so you become awkward.

So, how do you break the cycle? Here are our top tips for walking into a date with your head held high and radiating confidence.

Hit the gym

We all know that exercise is a proven mood booster. Hitting the gym before a bit date can help you feel happier, healthier, and more confident. Just make sure you hit the showers afterwards too!
Relax and unwind

Try not to let your nerves get the better of you. In the run up to the date, try your hardest to relax and unwind. Take a bath, read a good book, or curl up and watch your favourite TV show. Not only will you feel less tense, doing a relaxing activity will also take your mind off the night ahead.

Reach out to friends

There’s no-one better to boost your mood than the people who know you best. Reach out to a friend and there’s no doubt they will remind you how smart, funny, and attractive you are before your big date.

Primp and preen

Unfortunately, our appearances are what people judge us on first. To make sure you feel your most confident when you walk into your date, take some time to work on your appearance. Adding a touch of make-up or styling your hair a new way can give you a pre-date confidence boost.

Envisage the perfect scenario

Imagine yourself meeting your date and hitting it off straight away. The conversation will flow, the jokes will be perfectly timed, and you’ll go home feeling that loved-up glow. Visualisations are proven to work, so the more you imagine the date being a success the more likely it is to be a success.

OCD & Anxiety Inside a Relationship.

Anxiety and OCD are often talked about in the same breath and frequently come hand in hand. Someone suffering from issues with anxiety may well end up developing OCD type behavior as a mechanism with which to cope with this, leading to a spiral of destructive habits that can be harmful not only to them but also to their friends, family and partners.
